The core of the MC312 Goose gun is a lightweight aircraft aluminum receiver with an integrated internal top accessory rail making it ready to accept red dot optics or other optics right out of the box. In fact, the new Girsan MC312 includes a red dot optic that is provided by EAA so no need to purchase an additional one unless you had a specific optic in mind.

The stock and barrel are durable and light on account of their high-impact polymer construction which should let you use and abuse the shotgun for a lifetime of goose slaying. Finally, the MC312 Goose Gun includes a whole set of chokes and is topped off with a fiber optic front sight in case you want to forgo the red dot sight. The Shotgun’s 12 gauge bore is also compatible with standard chokes that aren’t included with the shotgun out of the box.

While it may not be the lightest shotgun on the market meant for bird hunting, the price certainly seems reasonable at just $452 especially when you consider it comes already equipped with the tools needed to use the red dot option and 5 different choke tubes if you wish.
