Goose Season is just around the corner and now is the time to get a hold of your new Goose Hunting Shotgun and get to work practicing for the season. Not only will this give you ample time to practice, but it’ll also give you a solid amount of time to vet your new hunting pice to ensure it won’t give up on you in the field when you need it to work most. A new option on the market to consider is the new EAA MC312 Goose Gun. The Goose Gun comes loaded down with out-of-the-box features that basically require no searching and hunting for components on your own (with the exception of ammunition and maybe a sling). This new shotgun is specifically geared towards being lightweight and ready to go out of the box with its included red dot optic and accessory rail as well as a full suite of chokes for your desired pattern.
New Goose Gun MC312 Semi-Auto Shotgun from EAA
The new Semi-Auto Shotgun is capable of using 2-3/4″ shells, 3″ shells, and even 3-1/2″ shotgun shells. The core of the MC312 Goose gun is a lightweight aircraft aluminum receiver with an integrated internal top accessory rail making it ready to accept red dot optics or other optics right out of the box. In fact, the new Girsan MC312 includes a red dot optic that is provided by EAA so no need to purchase an additional one unless you had a specific optic in mind.
The stock and barrel are durable and light on account of their high-impact polymer construction which should let you use and abuse the shotgun for a lifetime of goose slaying. Finally, the MC312 Goose Gun includes a whole set of chokes and is topped off with a fiber optic front sight in case you want to forgo the red dot sight. The Shotgun’s 12 gauge bore is also compatible with standard chokes that aren’t included with the shotgun out of the box.

While it may not be the lightest shotgun on the market meant for bird hunting, the price certainly seems reasonable at just $452 especially when you consider it comes already equipped with the tools needed to use the red dot option and 5 different choke tubes if you wish. If you want to be a sporting conservationist, states like Wisconsin quite often have overpopulation issues with Canadian Geese Specifically and regular cullings are needed to keep the Goose population in check for the sake of native species in certain areas – the EAA Goose Gun might be just the tool for the job.
