Winner: “Morning Field Trip” By Christopher Baker
“I always look forward to the ducklings and goslings that make their appearance at the local lakes and ponds here in North Alabama in the late spring,” says Baker. “I love to get up early when the animals are active and the sun is low on the horizon providing soft and warm side lighting. On this occasion, the mother mallard was leading her ducklings away, but I managed to get to the shoreline and get a nice low perspective of the family. Mom’s slight head turn towards the sun gave me the composition I was looking for.”
