Winner: “Two Medicine Lake Sunrise” By John Pierce

“On our first trip to Glacier, I had planned to see and photograph as many of the iconic locations as possible,” explains John Pierce. “Staying at our third location, the historic Glacier Park Lodge in East Glacier, I scouted Two Medicine Lake the evening before and returned at sunrise to capture Senopth Mountain (8,276 feet) on the western end of the lake as it caught the rising sun. Fortunately, there were enough clouds to also reflect the color of the sunrise. The surface of the lake was like glass, allowing for a sparkling reflection as well as a transparent view of Glacier’s colorful pebbles near the shoreline. My gear creates full depth of field when fully zoomed out at 24mm, f/14, focused at about 15 feet.”
