Reintroducing the Marlin Model 1895 Trapper 45-70 Lever Action

Few cartridges out there are as universally loved as the 45-70 government cartridge. Combining higher velocities with heavyweight and wide diameter bullets makes for a great hunting caliber whether you’re trying to take down a mule deer or you’re going after some of the tougher and more dangerous species that exist on the North American continent. Ruger is proud to be able to reintroduce the Marlin 1895 Trapper featuring the unique adjustable Skinner Sight system as well as a shorter handier barrel length as well as a few minor cosmetic updates to differentiate it from its big looped cousin the Ruger/Marlin 1895 SBL.

The Rifle also differs from the 1895 SBL in that instead of a grey laminate checkered stock, the Trapper model features a darker Black checkered stock but still retains the new trademark Ruger/Marlin bullseye and laser engraved marlin logo on the bottom of the stock. If the new Ruger/Marlin 1895 SBL is any indicator of how well this new lever-action is being made, then the 1895 Trapper should prove to be a welcome addition to the revived line of Marlin rifles.

Like the previous release of the Ruger Marlin 1895 SBL, the 1895 Trapper features a polished stainless-steel receiver and is accompanied by small nickel-plated parts to keep the look uniform and durable. New for the 1895 Trapper is the Skinner Sight system which is both rugged and accurate. The Skinner Sights combined with the shortened 16″ barrel should give big game hunters and predator hunters the accuracy and quickness they need to make the important shot.
