Watch a trailer of what could be one of the best climbing films of the year.

Powerhouse producers Red Bull Media House and Sender Films (producers for “The Dawn Wall”) have teamed up for their latest film, “The Alpinist,” centered on the late Marc-André Leclerc.

Through this film you’ll get to accompany the solo climber on some of his most daring ascents.

“On remote alpine faces, the Canadian makes some of the boldest solo ascents in history. Yet, he draws scant attention. With no cameras, no rope, and no margin for error, Leclerc’s approach is the essence of solo adventure,” teased the producers.

Leclerc and his climbing partner tragically perished in March of 2018 in Alaska. ‘The Alpinist’ is a look at his life as a climber.

In the film, you’ll follow along with Leclerc’s adventures. Then, toward the end, watch Leclerc embark on a historic adventure in Patagonia that could redefine what is possible in solo climbing.

Curious which big-name climbers are featured in this film? The list includes Brette Harrington, Alex Honnold, Reinhold Messner, and more.

‘The Alpinist’ was selected for the 2020 Telluride and SXSW Film Festivals. Directed by Peter Mortimer and Nick Rosen. It comes out in theaters in September 2021.

Run time: 93 minutes. Release date: September 10, 2021
