Morgan Rogue 05.02.22
I used to be one of those people that said “leggings aren’t pants” but that was only because leggings used to really suck. I mean, every single legging on the market had zero pockets and they were just uncomfortable.
These days? More and more companies are realizing that women want pockets, even on leggings! Pockets are life.
More specifically, a lot of outdoor and tactical companies realize that women can be practically tactical, too, and pockets are just a practical part of day-to-day life.
In comes the Kaia Tight leggings by 5.11 Tactical. I’ve always been a fan of 5.11, their tac pants for women have always been on point. Their women’s clothing, in general, has really gotten a lot better over the years and I’m always excited for their new launches to see what kind of new gear they have for women.
These leggings are one of the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. I wear them for riding bikes, hanging around the house, going to the grocery store, and even at the range.
These are multi-purpose leggings that can be worn anywhere you’re comfortable wearing them. I got the size small and it’s an absolutely perfect fit. The waist isn’t too tight, but it’s also not too loose, either.
Guess what? They have pockets! Deep pockets, too. Deep enough for my iPhone on one side and my wallet on the other. I do wish the seams on the pockets were reinforced so my pocket clips, like for a knife, would secure better. I typically like to carry a pocket knife, but it’s fallen out a couple of times when I try to clip them into the pockets.
Not a terribly big deal as I can clip the pocket knife to the waist if I need to.
Speaking of the waist, there is a hidden pocket that would be great for cash or a key or credit card or something small like that.
I would not recommend using that hidden pocket for CCW as it’s not designed for that. The waist isn’t strong enough to properly hold a firearm, but that’s ok, that’s not what these leggings are going to be known for.
They’re known for their comfort, their flexibility, and their fantastic pockets.
Sometimes, and only sometimes, I feel like it rides up a bit into the crotch, but that’s usually because I didn’t adjust it properly when I put it on. I usually need to pull the fabric up my legs to loosen it up a bit, better for overall flexibility, too.
The craftsmanship in general is superb. I’ve put these through the washer many times and not a single stitch has come loose. That has definitely been a problem in the past from other brands, but not from 5.11.
These leggings have wicking properties and an anti-odor finish. It wicks water which is pretty dang great because I’ve definitely run up a sweat in these and I’ve even spilled a few things on them, but it wicks away quickly and generally dries extremely fast. I don’t feel sticky or gross afterward, either, so the anti-odor finish really works. I’ve never been like, “ew, I need to get these gross leggings off”, instead I just keep wearing them, when I should actually probably take them off and wash them, hah.
Anyway, I really am impressed by the Kaia Tight leggings by 5.11 Tactical, and coming in at $70, it’s absolutely worth it. In fact, at the time of writing this, it’s on sale for $44! Head over to their website and check them out.
