If you carry a small-framed 1911 in .45 ACP, capacity is a concern. The recent trend toward 9mm 1911 carry guns is, in part, a way to increase capacity. The smaller diameter of the 9x19mm round increases capacity and the all-steel frame can make a significant dent in felt recoil. Now available in a commander size, this is the newest in Springfield Armory’s Emissary line. Introducing the new 9mm Emissary 4.25″.

The 9mm Emissary 4.25″ blends form and function seamlessly in a firearm built for defense and loaded with custom-grade features. It’s constructed with a forged stainless steel frame and forged carbon steel slide, with a beautiful two-tone finish. The blued carbon steel slide pairs with a stainless steel frame featuring a distinctive squared trigger guard with additional room for ease of operation with a gloved hand.
The NEW 9mm Emissary 4.25″ From Springfield Armory
The Emissary 4.25″ is made up of a forged stainless steel frame and a stainless slide with some hard lines. The grip texture is aggressive so it grabs your hand and keeps the gun in place. The two included magazines hold nine rounds and feature extended base plates. The grip safety has an extended beavertail. The square trigger guard and flat trigger give shooters new ergonomics aimed at defense. The slide uses the same sights as the Hellcat pistols and serrations across the top for reducing glare from the sun.
