Solo Overnight Camp – Stealth Tarp, Winter Camping in Cold Rain, 100 Year Old Tools.

OUTDOORS
I head out to the Forest for a Solo Overnight Camping trip using a low-profile stealth tarp camp setup. It wasn’t long before the cold rain came and as a challenge for this trip I tried to use vintage 100 year old tools. When I arrived in the woods I chose a good spot to camp in a small clearing in the forest. I set the tarp up between two pine trees and knowing that rain was in the forecast, I set the tarp up low to the ground to minimise the cold wind chill. This was filmed beginning of February so winter was in full swing in the UK. The Challenge was to try and use some old vintage gear to process firewood, light the fire and for general use around camp. It wasn’t easy, as I soon found out when the axe head nearly came off when chopping wood. At one point a huge downpour of rain came, which almost got the shelter soaked. I cooked up some rice on the fire and collected more firewood for night.
Throughout the video I show how to set up a tarp, how to light a fire with natural materials and other winter camping and bushcraft tips. The following morning I had to get the fire going again, this time by traditional flint and steel. I cooked up some bacon and made a fresh cup of coffee! Hope you guys enjoy the adventure!
